Marv Nelson
Marvin Nelson has been President of Nelson Electric since 1987. His father, the late Lyle Nelson, founded the company in 1951. With a strategic approach to growth and through strong leadership, Marv has transformed Nelson Electric into one of the leading union, commercial electrical contractors in the Puget Sound Region.
In the 1990’s, Marv began a transition that focuses on a design-build, team-approach to facilities design and construction. With these methodologies, projects are consistently completed on time and within budget.
Marv’s outstanding depth of knowledge and extraordinary experience in all facets of electrical construction is widely recognized throughout the local construction industry. Marv has been a member of National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) for more than 40 years and has served in leadership positions for the Puget Sound Chapter. In 2013, Marv was awarded membership to the NECA’s Academy of Electrical Fellows. In this region, he is one of three to hold this distinction.
Marv is a University of Washington alumnus and an avid Husky football fan. In Marv’s free time, he enjoys golf, travel, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
