Nelson Electric was started in 1951 by a husband and wife team; Lyle and Laura Nelson.
Priding themselves on meeting and exceeding customer expectations while delivering the best in quality service, customers learned early on that they could trust Nelson Electric with all their electrical needs.
Son, Marv Nelson, became an integral part of the Nelson team in 1969. Working alongside his father, Marv developed his own set of trade and business skills.
In 1987, Marv stepped into the role of company president. His father, Lyle, retained governance of the service and special projects divisions and continued working in the company until he was 81-years-old.
Over the years, under Marv’s leadership, the company transformed from a service focus to a large, union, commercial electrical contracting company, serving the Puget Sound Region.
Being predominately family-owned, a third generation of the Nelson family has become active leaders and owners. In addition to ownership roles, Tim Nelson and Kevin Nelson are active project managers. All owners are hands-on; working directly with clients.
